LIBERTY TWP, Ohio – Volunteers from Liberty High School partnered with the Churchill United Methodist church to help distribute food to those in need in their community.
Students came out early Friday to volunteer at the Feed Our Valley sponsored event. Those students helped check people in, gather food in carts and load cars.
Becky Miller, the special events coordinator for the Second Harvest Food Bank, said the recipients like the kids so much they ask about them when they are not there.
Friday’s event was another way the food bank works to not only serve those who need assistance but to offer life lessons to young people about sharing, taking responsibility for others and contributing to their community.
