Vendors selling arts and crafts in the LYRIC

The first annual Liberty Family Fall Festival was held on Saturday, September 29, in conjunction with Liberty High School’s Homecoming weekend. The Family Fall Fest was the first fund-raising event held by the newly established Liberty Leopard Alumni Association and was a great success! Numerous vendors and craftsmen sold their unique and festive wares to the community in addition to the free activities, games and prizes for the young ones in attendance.  Many Liberty Alumni attended and signed up to be supporting members of the Liberty Leopard Alumni Association.

Alumni float in the Homecoming Parade

On Friday evening prior to the fest, many attending alums jumped aboard the alumni homecoming float and enjoyed the parade.  There were representatives from past football, cheerleading, and band classes, but also five past Homecoming queens and even a past King.  Reminiscing, cheering, and tossing candy to the spectators was a blast while riding the parade route up Shady Road and around the schools to the stadium. Before entering the game, there were complimentary hot dogs, beverages and chips at the alumni tailgating tent! More alumni enjoyed an evening together at The Youngstown Crab Co. on Friday night after the game, and even more attended an alumni gathering at The Albatross on Saturday night!

The pride and passion of Leopards from the past and support for those Leopards in the present and future was celebrated throughout the weekend.  The success of these inaugural events and support shown by alumni was indicative of a bright future for the Liberty Leopard Alumni Association, and our potential ability to affect positive change on the school and eventually the community.
